It was time for the monthly Forest Row village market. Held on the first Saturday of each month, it's always a wonderfully strange mix of people and products - as is to be expected from this village really. Things had been going full swing in the kitchen for the past week and I turned up ready to fit right in with my ramshackle display, made from colanders, chess boxes and upturned bowls - amongst other things (all food safe of course).

Autumn was creeping in and here at The Doughdough we've been unashamedly spicing everything in a frenzy to rival that of Starbucks; with spiced apple macarons, spiced battenberg and pumpkin spice cake all making an appearance.

The weather held up until midday and then in true English fashion, it started sh****g it and everyone packed up early. And although everything else was dampened, spirits remained dry and toasty as it was still a sell out success with only a few crumbs of cake left. Looking forward to the next one!

Product list:

Lemon Polenta Cake

Pumpkin Spice Cake + Brown Butter Frosting

Orange Blossom + Cardamom Battenberg (ve)

Apple, Carrot + Walnut Loaf (v

Chocolate Fudge Cake (ve)

Spiced Apple Macarons

Blackberry + Elderflower Macarons
